Healthy Pregnancy

When I was pregnant with Sophia, I had the most active healthy pregnancy the whole entire time. I gained weight at a healthy steady pace, made sure to drink enough water throughout the day, and constantly worked out and ate all healthy foods. This time around, in the beginning I was extremely tired the first about 6 weeks. And definitely didn't take care of myself as much till about halfway through my pregnancy- week 18 to be exact, but who's counting. I wasn't eating terrible, but I wasn't eating the healthiest either. And I definitely wasn't working out. But I guess you can say that chasing after a toddler was my workout for a while.
Once I hit 18 weeks, I decided to make a change. I wanted that healthy active pregnancy again. So I got my garage set up into a gym, got a treadmill and elliptical, and organized all my weights. Since this time I had no time to physically make it to the gym everyday because I have no one to watch Sophia, I had to make my own gym at home. Which I love. Here I've written a few things that I do, to help me stay healthy and active during my pregnancy. Hope this helps some of you!

1. Get at least 20-30 minutes in of a workout. The only time I have to workout, is during Sophia's nap. Since I have breakfast so early before anyone wakes up, I normally have a snack when Sophia has breakfast. She plays a little, then takes a nap. That's then my que to get a quick workout in. I automatically wake up in the mornings and put my workout clothes on so that I have no excuse later on. I start with about 15-20 minutes of cardio always keeping my heart rate around 140, and then work on my lower body, upper or core. Yes, I still workout my core. And no, I don't mean sit ups and crunches, I mean planks, and stretches. Just to keep my core strong and tight.

2. Outdoor hiking. I try to get out now as much as I can with Sophia. Even if it means going for hikes or walks around the park. But I made a deal with myself that I'd at least go on a hike every other week or every week if I have the time. So hiking has been amazing. Pushing a stroller up a slightly steep mountain with a two year old and a backpack on carrying water, snacks and jackets in case it's cold makes the hiking much harder and better. I've been looking up kid-friends hikes and have found a lot of awesome ones in LA.

3. Drinking one gallon of water a day. Trying to drink at least a whole gallon a day has been hard, I have to pee every 20 minutes as is, so drinking tons of water makes me pee even more. But water has its benefits and helps with elasticity of the skin which can help with stretch marks, and helps with staying hydrated, especially if you workout. You'll need the extra water.

4. Eating 5-6 small meals a day. Making sure you get the proper nutrition everyday is so important. You want to have at least 5-6 small meals a day. Especially while the bump grows, you typically start to get less and less room in the belly to eat 3 normal sized meals.. Makes you so full, and in pain.. So eating small meals helps. You're constantly eating, and never starving.

What do you do to help you stay active during pregnancy? I'm always looking for different options!

Pregnancy Style + Leggings

So crazy how some days the belly can look like I'm about to pop, and other days so small.. This day was definitely a small day.. But I still couldn't help but take a few photos of this adorable outfit! So causal, and comfortable, and the only thing maternity about it, is the leggings! I actually got these leggings when I was pregnant with Sophia, they fit me perfectly around the legs but the belly part is still too big. At the growing rate that I'm at, these will fit perfectly in no time.

28 Weeks |Num.2|

How far along: 28 weeks!! We only have 11 weeks to go till my scheduled surgery!
Gender: Still unknown.. And definitely not giving in to wanting to find out.
Weight gain: I've gained around 19 pounds. The weight is slowly coming on now, thank god! I was gaining weight so fast those two weeks of Christmas and New Years!
Maternity clothes: Yes, leggings, workout pants, and new maternity pants only! My shirts I still keep and wear.
Stretch marks: None. Lots of water, slowly gaining, and lots of body butter!
Sleep: My sleep has been awesome. Still getting up at 6am everyday for me time, and getting in a quick workout before Sophia wakes.
Best moment this month: I took Sophia to have breakfast with the character at Disneyland! It was awesome. We went to Goofy's Kitchen, which I don't recommend doing while pregnant. It's buffet style, so I ate everything I couldn't even fit in my belly. Talk about stomach pains all day.. But it was so worth it dancing with the characters and eating and meeting them all for Sophia. Big smile the whole time. #Success
Worst moment this month: Nothing to crazy or bad this month actually
Movement: Yup. This little one loves to show us that it's in there! But definitely not hurting me anymore.
Cravings: None, thank goodness.
Quesy or sick: Nope
Labor signs: Besides the braxton hicks, none.
Belly button in/out: My belly button is still halfway in. It pops out on occasion, but is still a little bit in.
Wedding rings on/off: My wedding rings are on still which is nice.
Mood: I have been in the best mood since having me time every morning. It's crazy how our moods can change within one goal to be better. I love how happy I am now. Happy Wife, Happy Life.
Looking forward to: I am looking forward to getting the baby's nursery done! I can't way tot show you all what I have planned out for this gender neutral room!

This pregnancy is flying by, and I know I say this every time, but it really is!  I also have a post coming on how you can stay healthy and fit during your pregnancy! Can't wait to share that with you all. Happy hump day!
Oh, and here is a side-by-side 28 week photo with Sophia and not this pregnancy. So similar, yet so different..

Pregnancy Style + Pink Blush Maternity (Giveaway)

Being pregnant has always made me feel beautiful.. It's the time of season when I take the most selfies, when I document my whole life which is 99% pregnancy related, and when I eat the healthiest-except for christmas week, but lets not talk about that shall we? Haha. Being pregnant has also challenged me in ways to find a style for myself. It can be hard to dress the bump, especially as it grows and grows. Your clothes start to fit a little tighter, your pants don't want to button up, your shirts start becoming crop-tops. All these things start happening at once, and although its such a beautiful thing growing a baby, it can be hard to find clothes that flatter your body.
I've teamed up with Pink Blush Maternity for your chance to win a $50 gift card to shop their store! Just head on over to my Instagram by clicking HERE and enter to win! Pink Blush Maternity not only carries clothing for the pregnant mamas, but also for the non-pregnant! And all there clothes fits true to size, so if you're normally a size small, it will fit you even if its maternity! The mid-sections stretch as the belly grows, so you don't ever have to go bigger in size. It's truly amazing. They carry dresses, tops, jeans and accessories! Why I didn't find them sooner? I have no clue, but i'm so glad I have them now for my super chic and flattering maternity clothes!
Take a look at this gorgeous Ivory Floral Draped Maternity Maxi Dress that I received from them. It was lightweight, fit snug to my body and I was still able to play around at the park with my 2 year old toddler! The dress fits as my belly grows, and will continue to fit once my belly is gone. Be sure to check out the link to their website HERE.

6 Ways To Cope As A Mom

I've always been one too cater to others, put others before me, give more, love and care.. It's just apart of who I am being a mom and wife. It's something that I can't and won't change about myself because I love being this way. But the one thing I'm not good at, is finding time for myself and balancing being a momma, wife and just me. I've been married for 3 1/2 years (together for 12), and a mom for 2 with another on the way. And I can tell you, it's been the best years of my life, but one thing.. I'm losing myself and my identity as a human being. I am losing myself as a woman. I was noticing that I wasn't as happy as I used to be when it came to taking care of myself. I was that always fit, makeup, manicured nails, always getting dressed type of girl. And I just became a robot mom/wife. Wake, feed, play, feed, play, bath and sleep then do it all over again the next day. I was noticing that my temper was going up because I would see my hard working hubby relaxing on the couch, and I'd get so bitter and angry and find something to complain to him about that he could be helping me with.. So, I had to change myself.  I had to change who I was becoming, and be who I used to be, but this time with a toddler and husband. So here are 6 ways that have helped me cope as a mom and wife everyday so that I don't just become robot mom and am happier with myself as not only a mom and wife, but a lady.

1. Waking up early. I found that going to bed at a decent time and waking up early was exactly what my body and mind needed. I'm up at 6 am everyday, which is two hours before Sophia. So I get two hours of just me time. And that's to do anything I absolutely need too. I do understand this will change when #germbaby2 comes, but for now, I'm truly enjoying it. Lately, I have been getting out of bed, drinking some hot tea, reading my bible and studying a new book that I'm only reading for about 40 days for my marriage.. I have time to sit in peace and quiet, while it's still dark out. I get to watch the sunrise, and just relax my mind and plan the day out to be super mom and wife.
2. Reading a book. I hated reading back in school. Absolutely hated studying, but finding a good book to read and fall into it has been awesome! Whether it be the Bible, a love story, fiction, drama etc. Whatever it is that I may be into at the moment, is what I'm going to read. Right now, it's my Bible and a love story book. And so far, I am loving both of them so much.

3. Going for a walk/jog. Being able to exercise has always helped my mind and body with relaxing and feeling so much happier about myself. If I can't get a workout in, in the two hours of my morning alone, I try to do it with Sophia. She's always been really easy about letting me run on the treadmill while she eats a snack and watches a cartoon on the iPad. But I am trying to squeeze in a little outdoor walk alone just to enjoy the outdoors and recoup. So that's on my agenda in a few weeks, when it's not so cold out.. A breath of fresh winter air while getting in some exercise.

4. Shopping alone. Now, if you're a mom to one, two or more, you know how hard it is to just enjoy a little walk through target (or any store, but I love target haha). You're on a race against the clock. They either have to pee, or they have to eat within an hour or so, or they're just tired and it's nap time.. Going shopping alone, even if you aren't buying anything is awesome! I can walk through every single aisle slowly if I want too. Okay, I really don't do that, but hey maybe I'll try it once. Being able to shop alone gives you the freedom to grab a Starbucks and not share, check off everything that you went there to get, and just relax while you wait in line. No having to rush, and forgetting something, and no having to fight to get to the front of the line because your kids are acting up and are over it..

5. Getting pampered. I have been having trouble in this category.. But I finally just realized that having bushy eyebrows and disgusting fingernails and toes was what I needed to fix. And STAT! So, just making an appointment and having it on my calendar makes me feel so girlie and happy. And it makes me actually go. It's so nice to relax and get your nails done.. I used to never fall asleep at a salon till I became a mom. And my manicurist gives you wine and beer while you're there! Can you say spa day for myself after the baby is born?! Haha. Getting my nails done and anything else it I need, makes me feel fresh and beautiful.. Just like that feeling after you work out.. Amazing!

6. Have a girls date. This can fall under a few different categories, but having a girls date and meeting for lunch, dinner even coffee kid-free is great! You know, we all have those friends that don't have kids yet and you haven't been able to catch up with because they just wouldn't understand that sitting at a restaurant with a child and your girlfriend can be distracting. You're focusing on your babe the whole time, in stars did just relaxing and catching up. So, it was time to change that, and not feel so guilty leaving Sophia with her daddy. This momma needs her girls, kid-free and to enjoy a drink at that! (Again, after the baby is born) hahah
So, being a full-time mom and wife is definitely rewarding, has its ups always. I wouldn't trade being home teaching my daughter the right from wrong and caring for her. But sometimes, you need to recoup and rejuvenate that mind and body so you can be even better at what you already are!
What are some ways that have helped you with having time for yourself as a full-time mom and wife?

26 Weeks |Num.2|

I can't believe I am 26 weeks.. I only have about 13 weeks to go till my scheduled surgery date. I keep going back and forth on wether or not I should have a scheduled c-section.. Something inside of me, keeps telling me to just try again, but I'm so worried about the complications I can have like I did with Sophia. It worries me. I also decided to get a new hair cut and color! I needed a change and was so happy that my mom did my hair.. If you aren't on snap chat already, get one! You'll always see live footage of people's lives.. Kind of creepy but cool at the same time! Here is my snap chat: biancalively
Go find me and lets snap!

Here is my 26 week update!

How far along: 26 weeks!! Only 13 weeks to go! (Scheduled surgery a week before actual due date)
Gender: Still unknown, but we ask Sophia all the time and she says "boy"!94 "rurrer"-(brother) lol
Weight gain: I'm up to 18 pounds so far! I am about 8 pounds over what I was with Sophia at this time.. I have been eating so bad since Christmas.. But since two days ago, I am back to being healthier, running and eating small meals a day.. Thank God.. I don't want to blow up.
Maternity clothes: Not too much, but finally caved into buying a few cute little outfits, which I'll be sure to share in here!
Stretch marks: None. I've been trying to stay extra hydrated and lathered up with tummy butter every day. And will continue to do so.
Sleep: Sleeps been great still, Sophia's back into her own room. And I've been going to bed at a decent time since the new year and waking up at 6 am for some me time. It's been the best thing ever! Hot tea to enjoy while reading my bible and just relaxing, it's awesome!
Best moment this month: I would have to say that Sophia hasn't been wearing pull-ups! Besides at night and during her naps, but she's been doing so good at not having accidents.
Another thing, I got asked to be a Matron of Honor for a best friends wedding! I was just telling C how I've always wanted to be one because I'd be the best! Not to brag.. Lol but I've always been a bridesmaid and finally! My time has come!
Worst moment this month: It would have to be my emotional breakdowns to my hubby.. He's so good to me, and all I do is cry to him about how lonely I feel living so far from my family, especially now that I'm almost due with our second and he works so much.. But it's a new year, and a new me! So it's time to stay busy with Sophia and have my golden hour every morning to myself.
Movement: Yes, definitely feel this baby moving at all times, and it's the cutest! Not hurting me, just yet! Haha
Cravings: No cravings really.. Just eating like normal
Quesy or sick: Nope
Labor signs: Besides the braxton hicks, none.
Belly button in/out: My belly button is still halfway in. It pops out on occasion, but is still a little bit in.
Wedding rings on/off: My wedding rings are on still which is nice. They stayed on the whole pregnancy with Sophia, so i'm hoping they stay on the whole time with this one too.
Mood: My mood has been emotional/sad. But that's gonna change and has changed since the new year!! Bye bye emo child!
Looking forward to: I am looking to getting my hair done! I'm officially going lighter for winter (while very one goes darker haha) and am changing my hair and staying up to date with my blog and photography!

Happy New Years to all!

Look what a two weeks difference! In only two weeks of me eating terrible for the holidays and birthday, my stomach just is OUUUTT there. lol
