Outfit Post: Barefoot Fun

Sophia loves being outdoors, and the weather was finally nice enough to play outside barefoot.
The cement was warm, and the sun was shining just perfectly.

I've been dying over Dudley Denim. They carry the cutest jeans for kids and will even fix up your jeans that you have at home! Like these white jeans that I already had for Sophia. She never wore them, and I wanted them to be fixed up by Dudley Denim so that she can wear them in the summer, and have some air flow going through the ripped parts. I LOVE how stylish these make an outfit. And it also makes bending easier on the knees for her. ;) Thank you Courtney, you're talented girl.

I also wanted to add that a high school friend of mine has opened up her new shop called All Things Dixie and makes the most adorable yet simple headbands for little girls! When I saw she was making these I quickly went to her Etsy Shop and Instagram and did a custom order with her on a couple of headbands for Sophia like this one pictured above! Surprisingly enough, Sophia did NOT take these off. She normally pulls the headbands off with anger because she doesn't want them on, but she kept this one on which tells you something good. ;) She was very quick to respond to my emails, and had this order done the next morning! Shipping was quick and I can't wait to order some more. Thanks Rebecca!

Sophia's 15 Month Update

I was previously doing monthly updates on Sophia since she was born. I truly enjoy seeing her grow, and being able to document it on Little Mommy Nest. Now that she is a little over a year- 15 months to be exact- a lot has changed with her. She's grown so much in such a few short months, and has learned lots of new words, how to speed walk (almost run), and feed herself with spoons and forks (kind of haha).

Here is a 15 month old update on my princess Sophia.

weight: Sophia is weighing in at 23 lbs now! Such a big girl she is. I love seeing her weight go up as she gets bigger.. Something I'm sure every parent loves to see. I can definitely feel how heavy she is becoming whenever I pick her up after she eats.
sleep: Her sleep has been OUTSTANDING! And I mean like, she is sleeping from 830pm-9am. Its amazing. I finally have my sleep back.

eating: She's loving macaroni and cheese, turkey hot dogs, mexican rice, buttered up vegetables, and bananas! Omg she's a banana girl!!
loves: Sophia loves to take her baths. And she loves to pretend that she's talking on the phone to who knows who.. Maybe its her "papa" (daddy) haha. She enjoys being outdoors all day, and loves playing with the dogs as they run away from her with horror. She still continues to take out all the DVD's from the book shelf, and loves to say "hi!" and wave to every stranger she sees. Cutest thing.

hates: She hates when we tell her no, but what kid doesn't? She runs off in the opposite direction and gets to a wall and slaps the wall. Haha its the funniest thing ever. And she's not the best fan of veggies, but once I season those bad boys and butter them up, she's golden!
clothes: She's officially in 18 month clothing. And a ton of her clothes have been adorable! I love buying her new clothes and getting her dressed up (on certain days).
favorite toy: A few of her favorite toys are her little cars. She loves getting into her cars and riding around, and pushing her babies in it. She also loves to play with her kitchen and pots and pans. I love watching her play and learn how to do new things as she gets older.

Fun Facts:
12 Months: Walks all over
13 Months: Nods yes and no, top molars came in!
eats more solids. She loves pasta and ravioli
14 Months: Bottom molars came in! And she says mama all the time

Outfit Post: Spring Chic

I'm absolutely ready for the spring. We've got tons of weddings this spring and summer that I felt like doing a few spring inspired wedding guest looks. I'm trying really hard to start adding fashion/outfit post on Little Mommy Nest. Sometimes when you don't have a photographer in hand whenever, it can be difficult. But my bestie came to the rescue, and she'll be my fashion post photographer from now on. I guess you can say she's pretty good at what she does already! Thanks Barbie!
This skirt I got many years ago and only wore it once on Easter with the same shoes! I love these shoes. Adding fashion/outfit post now motivates me to get ready for the day, so that I can look beautiful for my hubby and not be in pjs all day long like I normally am. Although, I'm sure he doesn't mind the pajama thing either ;) haha. The top was so comfortable and you can wear any color crop top with this high waisted skirt. Love this look.

Valentine's Day Weekend

Valentine's Day weekend was full of throw up, Chinese food, no sleep and Palm Springs. It was a pretty eventful weekend actually. We had planned a one night getaway to Vegas, my mom was going to babysit for us and then last minute I just really wasn't feeling it. I miss C so much right now, that I just wanted him to myself and to relax the whole weekend without having to party. So we did that. We ordered take-out Chinese food, got a bottle of wine, and some red box movies. It was the PERFECT Valentine's Day. I loved it.

Then the inevitable happened. C woke up around 2:30am and threw up. He got the worst food poisoning from that Chinese food, and I was glad that the plans for Vegas were cancelled. He would of been uncomfortable and in the bathroom the whole time. We've never been into doing crazy things for Valentine's Day anyway, so I felt like making him a sugar cookies bouquet (you can find the sugar cookie recipe here) and giving him a thoughtful card. I also made a few cookies for my princess.

Friday night we had my monthly girls night sleepover. Got a few drinks in our systems, hung out by the fire pit and sang karaoke. It was a blast, just like every month.
Sunday we relaxed all day so that Chris can recover from his sickness Saturday night. And Monday decided to go to Palm Springs for the day to relax by the pool with my whole family. Sophia loved playing in the water.  It ended up being a great weekend after all. :)

Disneyland With A Toddler

Now that Sophia's a toddler (15 months), it's time to update my tips on taking a toddler to Disneyland! She's walking, on the go, and eats big people food now, so things are very different than when she was just an infant. You can read my previous post here if you have infant and are planning a Disneyland trip soon!
A few things differently from my infant post is the Diaper bag & waiting in lines.

Diaper Bag
In our diaper bag we carried a few snacks and essentials for us parents and for Sophia.
-1 empty sippy cup
-1 pair of pajamas
-1 light jacket
-almonds (for parents)
-pb & j sandwiches if you don't want to spend money on food
-dry toddler finger snacks
-water bottle

We also took Sophia's stroller, but you can also rent them there for $15 a day.

The rides are still the same as the infant list, but ill add them here again.
Rides that an infant/toddler can enjoy with you are:

Disneyland Theme Park
-Toad Ride
-Snow White
-Peter Pan
-Tea Cups
-Alice in Wonderland
-Astro Orbitor
-Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
-Casey Jr. Circus Train
-Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
-Haunted Mansion
-It's A Small World
-Jungle Cruise
-The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
-Pinocchio's Daring Journey
-Pirates of the Caribbean
-Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin
-Storybook Land Canal Boats

California Adventure
-Flik's Flyers
-Francis' Ladybug Boogie
-Golden Zephyr
-Heimlich's Chew Chew Train
-The Little Mermaid
-Mickey's Fun Wheel
-Monsters, Inc
-Toy Story Midway Mania
-The new Frozen Section

Nursing Center

Here are some of the things they have inside.
**Bullet points below are taken from Disneyland's website:
  • Nursing room with chairs
  • Changing room with tables
  • Feeding area with highchairs
  • Kitchen with microwave and sink
  • Main room with television, table and chairs
  • On-site shop offering formula, baby food, juice, diapers, wipes, sunscreen, over-the-counter medications and pacifiers for purchase

In Disneyland, the Nursing Center is located at the end of Main St. Next to first aid.
In California Adventure, it's located next to Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop and across from The Baker Tour in Pacific Wharf.

Sophia LOVES Disneyland, even more so now that she's walking around. My only new tips for standing in lines, is to have your phone ready to play cartoons, have some sort of toy or snacks in hand also! Sometimes those lines can be up to 30 minutes wait time. And these toddlers have a mind of their own and aren't fans about standing in one place for so long..
Hope you enjoyed this post! I know a few of you have been asking for the update version now that Sophia is a toddler. Thanks for reading!

10 Facts About ME Being A Stay-At-Home Mom

Being a stay at home mom, has been extremely rewarding for me. I used to always be on the go- full time student, working two jobs and still managing to go to the gym. Before Sophia was born, I always told myself that I would continue to be the busy bee that I was, but boy did that change as soon as I saw that cute little human that was oh so gentle and innocent. C and I felt that I should stay home and we figure things out with one income. We love it this way. Of course, being home has its flaw and every parent can relate to feeling stressed and tired being home all day long with kids.

So here I wanted to share 10 facts about ME being a stay-at-home mom, and that no, I don't always have it "together" like you may think..

*Beware, this is as raw as it's gonna get. Cell phone pictures and all.

1. Not laughing when I'm trying to discipline Sophia. I just can't not laugh when she imitates me.. She throws food on the floor and I say "Sophia, don't do that please, that's Sophia's, yum yumm" And she goes "yum yum" raising her little eyebrows up and down like mine. lol

2. Having to get out of the house and just wishing every store, restaurant, and doctors offices had some sort of drive-thru.. Especially when Sophia falls asleep in the car and I have to carry that heavy carseat in and out from place to place.. Its a workout out I tell ya.

3. The last time I mopped the floor was about umm a month ago? I tend to just wipe things up as I go..

4. I feed sophia mac and cheese, plain ravioli, turkey dogs, grayem crackers and banana almost
everyday. I just really don't have the patience to fight with her on veggies or meats. I really need to get more creative in the kitchen for her..She's just way too picky man. Oh, she does like pancakes and eggs!

5. When I say I wear my pajamas all day, everyday. I mean it. If I have to go to the grocery store or run some errands, i'll probably throw some yoga pants on really quick, a hat and running shoes. Don't judge. "i've been working out all day."

6. The laundry piles up higher than my actual laundry basket. Yes, like clothes on the floor and around the basket type of piles. I just put them in the laundry room, and shut the door. It's a step in the right direction though, right?

7. Sophia is in her pajamas all day long just like me. Twinning! And the only time I'll ever change her, is if we go somewhere. Other than that, its pajama day, all day for us. Oh, and those pictures you see of her in cute clothing.. Ya, that was a day full of errands probably, and I felt like if I didn't take pictures of her cuteness, then there would be no evidence of her ever wearing something adorable. So there you have it. Outfit Blogpost-Wink* wink*

8. I live by a routine. And having a routine everyday has helped me so much with raising Sophia. I am a schedule type of mom. And I LOVE it.  Like here, I try to get a workout in during the week and she always seems to take a nap.  (sweaty picture with no make up after a run= lots of filters)

9. When Sophia naps, I definitely relax. Ha, you probably thought I was going to say that I try to get everything done while I can right? But negative. I totally 100% take advantage and do absolutely nothing while she naps.. Some days (more than others) I'll workout or eat or something. ;)

10. When I know daddy will be home, I quickly pick EVERYTHING up and put it away. It's like the fastest cleaning I do during the day. Dishes go in the dish washer, counters get wiped super fast, Sophia's toys go where they belong, and I shut the laundry room door. He will never know how disastrous our house gets while he's working… If you know him, you know he would probably have a heart attack if he saw the house a crazy mess. oh well.. Babe:"what did you guys do today?" Me:"oh we hung out, went for a walk, the store, cleaned, worked out…hung out.. ya know?.. The usual."

-How do you spend your days at home if you're a stay-at-home mommy. Or better yet, if you're a working momma, how do you manage to be home with your babes, and work? Props to you super moms!

Outfit Post: Lemons & Lace

*First off, sorry for being MIA. This training for C's job is intense and I feel like I barely get anytime to blog since all I wanna do is spend time together as a family. Our time is precious when daddy is home.

The weather has been crazy lately, rain one week, sunny skies the next. I just can't wait for spring to arrive.. Our outfits were inspired by these headbands and Valentines Day.

They're called Mom & Mini Duos! And I couldn't wait to show you all how adorable Lemons & Lace is with all their accessories. Sophia and I have been doing a little matchy-match lately if you haven't already noticed on Instagram. Like a once every few weeks type of thing because I obviously don't own pink tutus, Freshly Picked Moccassins, and tights with bright colored hearts all over them.. Although I wouldn't mind a pair or two of each of these haha.. What happened to me?! I used to hate pink, girlie things, and glitter all together. But the older Sophia gets, the more I'm sooo into it.. Ah! Save me from the PINK TUTUS! SAVVVVEEE ME..Okay, maybe not..

I hope you enjoyed this outfit post, because Lemons & Lace was kind enough to give my readers this 15% off coupon code off your entire purchase! All you have to do is add the code: "mommynest15" to the coupon code section during your checkout and you're golden! Spring is almost here!
