Giving Thanks

Oh Turkey Day...

Thanksgiving was so much fun this year. We had my mom over with her boyfriend and my little sister and we did a very big dinner for just us. Turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, stuffing, bread rolls, literally everything you probably had too. This year instead of the traditional cooking in the oven for a few hours, we deep fried our turkey. I was a little "eh" about a deep fried turkey only because I normally get bad stomach aches with fried food, but this turkey was BOMB! I mean look at it!
It was the best turkey I've ever eaten in my whole entire life. Even the white meat was juicy. We found this amazing recipe online and tried it out. We will forever deep fry our turkeys. The next morning we were googling different deep frying ideas so we can put our new deep fryer to good use.. We came up with deep fried fish, deep fried Oreos like at the fair, deep fried burgers.. I can't wait!

The day started out by eating our normal breakfast. I took Sophia and my little sister out for awalk since the weather was beautiful and then came home to cook with my mom while sipping on Riesling. Yum.

We ate dinner, then dessert and crashed on the couch and watched some Christmas movies whe in a food coma half asleep. Perfect Thursday. No Black Friday shopping for us this year! It was actually nice to stay home..
We ended the night with some dessert. Dairy Dairy Dairy!
How was your thanksgiving? Did you go Black Friday shopping?? I'm looking forward to cyber Monday! Happy Friday y'all

First Birthday Shoot

WARNING! PHOTO OVERLOAD CUTENESS!

I decided to get a little crazy with some pictures for Sophia's first birthday. I know how expensive photographers can be and knowing they only give you a certain amount of time with them gives me anxiety because photographing a child, is like trying to fit into your pre-pregnancy underwear while being 9 months pregnant. Nearly impossible. So, I knew I was gonna have to take them myself just incase she wasn't feeling it, so we can take as many breaks as we wanted.

Party Of Two: Reality

A while back C had gotten hurt and was able to stay home for 10 months.
Now, I have to admit that having him home everyday for the first few months was absolutely
amazing. It was a families dream come true.
Sophia was only 2 months old and daddy got to spend
every single day with her till she turned 1. He watched her grow, he taught her a lot,
watched her learn, and best of all, Sophia experienced life with her mommy and daddy every day together.
Happy and in love.....
But, then we got too comfortable together.. To the point that we would annoy each other
for no apparent reason because we were bored. We loved being home with Sophia
even though we would push each other's buttons 99% of the day. The best thing I did for us,
was go back to school. Just to have some space for a few hours..
Now don't get me wrong, he helped me out a lot, but I expected more from him
everyday which isn't fair. Whenever I'd start cleaning and I'd see he
was relaxing, I'd get very upset. Which was partly my fault because instead of asking
for help, id tell him to help. And no one likes being told what to do.
Not me anyway.
The day had come and he went back to work. I couldn't wait to have
my own routine with Sophia again since we hadn't been able to since she was 2 months..
I couldn't wait to miss him again.
Monday came along and I woke up and realized he wasn't next to
me, I missed him so much already. The week went by and I almost forgot how hard
it was to be alone with a baby toddler. I didn't have time to shower, eat, and
clean till he got home from work everyday..

This week definitely made me appreciate him so much more for being home.
It made me think of how grateful and blessed I  truly am for him and how much he actually did help me
while he was home.. I expected more from him, which isn't right at all..
And I can't wait for him to come home everyday to us. We love you C.
Here is a little glimpse of us lately.. In case you forgot haha
Love my handsome hubby

Giveaway: Freshly Picked Moccasins

Now, onto the amazing part of my day today, the Moccasins!
You've seen them all over social medias
with little kids wearing them, possibly with the hashtag of
#FreshlyPicked or #FPMoccasins.
I remember watching Susan on Shark Tank and it
got me really excited to get a pair for Sophia eventually.

Well, the time has come my friends and I got Sophia her first pair.
It's crazy how excited we get whenever our kids get something new.
It makes me feel like it's mine too if that makes sense haha.

Her shoes were so comfortable on her feet and the sizes run perfectly.
Shipping was quick and easy and when they say
they'll ship within 48 hours, they mean it.

When I first opened my package in the mail, I squealed with excitement!
I quickly ripped the box open and out came this beautiful little beige baggy with
'Freshly Picked' printed on it and these adorable shimmery moccasins.
While ordering her shoes, I was overwhelmed with which ones to choose.
I mean seriously, they're all so adorable. I wanted every single pair.

And then I spotted these perfect ones. The Merci-Limited Edition Moccasins.
I just had to have them. Perfect for boys and girls, easy to put on,
and don't fall off of your little ones feet. AHHH-MAZING!
The 100% genuine leather is what makes these so soft and
comfy on the inside and outside.
They have an elastic band on the inside as well, which works as a
"support band" so that they're softly snug on your little ones ankle.
Such an awesome addition to the shoes.

They come in sizes from 1-10 and they just recently
released the Petite Crib Moccasins so your infant or toddler
will be sure to fit into some!

Additionally, Freshly Picked was kind enough to sponsor this post!
I'm giving away one special pair of moccasins to
one special reader with your choice of color/style. All you have to do is
complete this rafflecopter and you have entered!
Giveaway ends at 9pm PST November 24th.
Winner will be chosen random and announced at 10am PST November 25th.
