Bianca Lively: Baby Registry Must Haves

Baby Registry Must Haves

Our baby shower was a little over a few weeks ago, and with only a few
weeks left of this pregnancy, it was time
for C and I to do some serious last minute purchasing!

Having to register for a baby/newborn/child/everything, was a bit difficult. One, I HATE shopping.
Hate, Hate, Hate.
So online registering was our best friend these past few weeks. Even though we did have
to make an appearance at a local Babies "R" Us and Target. I think we almost cut our throats off
searching for a carseat. Two hungry people, that don't like to shop, at a baby store.
You get the picture.

So we looked online at a few baby registry checklist. And we found two awesome ones!
One that C found which was short and sweet and to the point.
The other I found was long, and had so much more things that I knew we should register for. So we
used both!

The first one was from and it helped us a lot!
The second one was from Babies "R" Us and they had two! We used a must have checklist
and also a good-to-have checklist. Both were very helpful. Now I am no mom yet, and somethings I'm sure I can probably do without, or I can use more of, or you are probably thinking I have no idea what i'm registering for, but this is just a small breakdown of what we believe we would need. Or I'm sure the list would go on and on.

Here are a few things we felt we will use and registered for.

The Nursery:

Rockabye co. bella velvet grand glider - While looking at rocking chairs I came across this! And it's beautiful. The newly improved "rocking chairs" are amazing and I know I will be using it in Sophia's room for those mid day feedings.
Motorola digital video baby monitor - Having this for while she is sleeping will be awesome! Or even when she starts to sleep in her own room and we are downstairs.
Receiving blanket - These to keep her warm at night and swaddle her up for quick naps.
Ubbi diaper pail - So I have heard very good things about having a diaper pail.. And this one had awesome reviews so we figured, why not! Keeps the smell away, and you can store it in an area hidden in the nursery!
Sleepsack swaddle - Perfect for a newborn considering they can't have any blankets in the crib while they sleep. Lightweight, and keeps them warm.
Vicks waterless vaporizer - I always grew up getting sick. Sick every single season. So I am praying Sophia doesn't get as sick as I used to. But just in case, I read awesome reviews on this vaporizer for her room! Has a soft nightlight and is ideal for people that suffer a cold or asthma. Better safe than sorry in my opinion.
Changing pad - A changing pad on a changing table or even above a dresser. Read that they are great for when you have to change the little ones diaper or even get them ready for bed on something soft and cushiony. Since the crib would be too hard to change a babies diaper. Even though I'm sure you can manage from a crib, I think this would make things a little easier.

The Feeding:

Medela Tender Care Lanolin- I've heard awesome things about this cream. You put it on your nipple when its sore and provides a soothing feel to it. It's okay and safe for mommy and baby! Definitely got two of these bad boys.
Lillypadz - I got these because a friend of mine recommended them. She mentioned them being very helpful when she was home nursing her little man. Reusable and silicon safe for mommy and baby. Avent bottles- These BPA free bottles are some of the top rated bottles out there for babies. Not sure if Sophia will take the nipple, so we kept the boxes just in case we need to return them. Got a few in the 4-ounces which were adorable! And also got a few of the 8-ounce bottles, a variety of nipples from slow flow to quick flow as well.
Boon grass drying rack- Figured these would be nice for when when hand wash her bottles and nipples and we can have a place on the countertop to let them dry. Its very cute and you can also register for the flower and twigs that go on top for extra usage of baby items.
Munchkin bottle brush cleaner- Best one out there is what we hear. Love the spongy thing at the top, and the nipple brush that connects to the bottom of the stick! Went back to Target, about three times before finally purchasing this myself because I couldn't make an easy decision.
Newborn bib set- I was told that bibs are going to be a babies best friend. So we registered for a ton! And when I came to think of it, I remembered my siblings always having a bib on through out the day because they would get dirty here and there. These were just adorable ones I thought.
Burp cloths- Great to use for when you are feeding baby and need to burp the little one. Instead of always having the baby spit up or droll all over your shirt, a burp cloth will do the trick and absorb it all.
Boppy pillow- Everyone swears by these pillows for when feeding baby. It gives you the support that you need when feeding, and also can later on be used for tummy time, propping up, and learning how to sit on their own. Comes in a ton of different covers for it as well. I will be using this a lot.

The Gear:

Baby Jogger City Select Stroller-  This Stroller was honestly the most amazing thing ever invented on this planet! It can convert into 16 different ways! And also has space available for baby #2! Or if you are having twins. It is awesome. Just watch a youtube video on it.. You will fall in love. We got lucky with the limited edition all black frame.
Peg Perego Primo Viaggio Infant Car Seat- This car seat is so beautiful. I am definitely a fan of the all black that we got. Our car seat color was "licorice". It also matched perfectly with our stroller and our black interior vehicles! One of the best car seats out there with great reviews and safety features.
Arm's Reach Original Co-Sleeper- The awesome thing about this co-sleeper, is that it can later turn into a play pin! We were all about trying to save somehow, and we figured we would get this for her to sleep in with us for the first few months since i'll be nursing and then use it later down the road for her to play in! Connects right up to your bed too!
Fisher Price Cradle Swing- We had been told by many of our friends and family to get a cradle swing no matter what! We love this thing already and Sophia isn't here yet! It plays music, rocks side to side and back and forth. And you can also turn the seat!

The Essentials:

Brica Auto Mirror- This mirror would be perfect for when you are in your car and baby is in the back seat and you need to see him/her. The one we registered for has a light on it! So if it's night you push a button near your head and the light turns on softly. Also has music to play as well!
Vicks Digital Pacifier Thermometer- This pacifier looks and feels like an ordinary pacifier! But, it actually functions as a digital thermometer so if the baby is fussy, she can take it and calm a little!
Skip Hop Stroller Toy- Perfect baby stroller toy! I loved it because it had a little mirror on it and I know babies tend to look at themselves in "aw".  It's got a rattle, a teether, and a tugger as well to play with!
Huggies Pure & Natural Diapers- Knowing how sensitive my own skin is, and also C's. I can only imagine how sensitive Sophia's skin will be. Especially being a newborn. We registered for diapers and also wipes! Because we knew we would need them eventually. And also knew in case she outgrew any, we can always return them to Target. Gotta love Target.
Petunia Pickle Bottom Hampton Holdall Black Forest Cake Diaper Bag- Now this was probably one of the most expensive bags I have ever boughten myself. But it is BEAUTIFUL! And has every single thing possible for a diaper bag. It was very hard to find considering they were out of stock, but we finally found one! And I am in love once again.... Comes with so much..

**Now like I said earlier, I'm not a mommy yet, and I'm sure that I could of added or removed some items on this baby registry. But these are just a few of the things we felt that would help us in the long run. We can't wait for our little baby princess!!!
